Here's the jam-packed gallery
of our first visit to the Air Force Academy to see Tahichi!
6:30 a.m. we arrive at the Chapel wall and Doug is the first to spot our Cadet Cadet Richardson meets his family! He is looking mighty fine in his dress blues! Looking across the Terrazo (which is on the 3rd story) towards Sijan Hall This is right outside his dorm room in Sijan Hall If you look past the old lady with the camera, you'll see the buildings where they have their classes Tach's desk and that's his top bunk The rifle rack in Tach's room. The White gun is his Honor Guard weapon. Tach had gifts for us stashed in his lock drawer. I got a 2010 teddy bear and Doug got his BCT cap This is the view out of his window, with the rest of Sijan and the Chapel behind Koji gets a taste of the Air Force life Off to class with his bitchen laptop After class a little goofing around outside Sijan Tach with his Sijan behind him Walking up the ramp towards the chapel for the honor guard performance This is the 4 class honor guard getting ready to do their performance - nice scenery eh? The 4th Class Honor Guard during their performance. Returning to his room after the honor guard performance - once more outside his dorm hall The Noon Assembly, which Tach didn't have to do because of the honor guard performance Tach and Koji by the plane in front of the Chapel A big Helo comes to make a landing on the terrazo Same helo leaving a couple of hours later My hero - the Web Guy, who made the 6 weeks of BCT a little more bearable for all the anxious Moms When we were leaving, during a rain storm, they retired the flag. It's a nice feeling to see our boys honor our country!! Tach's first civilian meal in 2 months at Outback. Tach checks out all his Fat Loot we brought him Ahh, civilian clothes in the hotel!! We stopped and looked at a homestead on Sat. afternoon and watched the prairie dogs in the field This is the infamous hill where Tach got stalked by a bear just before entering USAFA His SoftAir helmet with the vest in back One last coffee and a leisurely chat in the bookstore One final view of the academy as we leave him on Monday.
